Look at this amazing photo! This is my neighbor’s cousin, Frances, who sadly died of cancer at only 32. She was an ‘air hostess’ for British Airways – so glamorous! Thank you for all of the great comments today, and thank you Kay for the photo.
    Best,
    Ronda

My Mother-in-law was a Hostess for the Worlds Fair in Brussels and I have posted about her on my blog.
She said looks and hygiene were extremely important.
The job was an honor to represent the country. We need to restore dignity to certain service careers by creating a position of pride association.

Very elegant young lady, she reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. I hope she led a very full life during her brief time with us.

What a beautiful woman & incredibly sad. I was thinking the exact thing when flying last week. It use to be such a classy experience & thus has sadly disappeared. Sadly it's like a trip to Walmart.
Safe travels. I am sure you have heard the "broiler" is on here in Houston!?

I've heard…it's making packing so much more difficult. I am wearing shorts and a long sleeve t shirt today. Don't think that will be the case on Monday!

So nice of you to share with us this beautiful photo of your neighbor's cousin, as a testament to her beauty, which I am sure was from the inside as well.
Seems like a day doesn't go by without hearing about yet another person that is ravaged by cancer and simply feel a continued calling to join the forces in supporting research to beat this horrible disease.
My own sister struggles with cancer and is what brings it "close to my home"

So great – it was a time when air travel truly was glamorous, along the lines of the artical "Why they don't make pilots like Sully anymore"…

so sad about her, I thought you were going to say it was a picture of Natalie Wood.
